There’s as much artistry in restoration auto body work as there is in any art form, more actually as it combines every plastic art… sculpture, engraving, carving, painting, fabrics, leather, metal casting and not incidentally, knuckle-busting mechanical work.
Right now, he’s bringing back a 1964 Studebaker Avanti, a rocket car of the time, and the model he’s working on set a speed record of 198mph at Bonneville Salt Flats – right from the showroom, unmodified.
Jake’s just starting on the project now, and as he progresses I’ll post updates, hopefully about once a week. For now, here are some photos to get you acquainted.
