Here’s a good example of government behaving like an asshole.

Norsemen tried to comply and jumped through lots of hoops to appease regulators, and then comes the Ag Dept. and side-swipes ’em. Why anyone would want Akvavit in the first place, much less leather flavoured, isn’t the point. Many start-ups, even established outfits like Norsemen, have a helluva time getting into compliance with regulators.

And the regulators seem to love catching businesses unaware and jumping on them w sharpened hobnail boots trying to inflict the most damage possible. It’d be much better if regulators became involved at the earliest possible point and helped the businesses, mentoring them to success instead of gloating over the corpse of an entrepreneur’s dream.
