Yesterday, I saw a yard sign that read “Pray to end abortions.” It was a depressing moment. My thoughts were many. If praying were going to work, wouldn’t it have done so by now? Are the people who are saying the prayers not doing it hard enough, are they doing it wrong, are they saying they are doing it but instead just thinking about other people naked or imagining getting drunk later? Or does God not care? Or does He care and is just fucking with us? Or does He not exist? Or is He part of the patriarchy? Then I wondered if I even care about any of it. And I realized that I don’t.
